ASF-UK had a really fantastic year last year thanks to the hard work and commitment of everyone involved in this organisation. We successfully managed to run 3 international workshops, a really superb summer school at the Eden Project, a well attended talk series hosted by Grimshaw, an excellent seminar on Social Enterprise along with a number of other smaller and less publicised events, including many talks and workshops that we have run across the country and internationally.
At the end of the year as part of a collaboration with Reading University and the University of Khartoum in Sudan, Naomi Shinkins ran a 3 day workshop in Khartoum on participation with a wide variety of people which we believe was a huge success. Caroline, Sarah and Melissa have been working for the last 18 months on the Leonardo Partnership with ASF Spain, France, Italy and Sweden. We hope to launch our online and free training programme by the end of July for anybody, who doesn’t have time to do a Masters in Development, to do in their spare time!
This year there are lots more exciting things planned, and opportunities for you to get involved. Come along to one of our informal evening sessions in Oxford and London or put the talk series in your diary and join in the debate on Expanding Architecture: operating a social agenda. If you’d like to become more engaged in international development, come on our workshop in Cameroon in August or if you’d like to support Cameroon participants to take part join us and cycle from London to Paris!
