Isis Nunez Ferrera – A big thank you from ASF-UK October 8, 2017
We bid farewell this summer to one of our longest standing associates, Isis Nunez Ferrera, who stepped down from the organisation after seven years.
Isis has been a key leader in ASF-UK, using her knowledge and skills in participatory design and planning, to develop and facilitate engagements focusing on settlement upgrading, housing rights, urban resilience and community- led reconstruction. From facilitating workshops in Brazil, Kenya, Ecuador, Colombia and Nepal, to establishing and being convener of the Resilience by Design programme since 2014, she has greatly helped to shape the organisation and enhance our engagements. She has developed and strengthened multiple partnerships with grassroots organisations and research institutions, as well as with many researchers and practitioners who have gone on to volunteer with us.
In 2014, Isis was selected as one of 50 UNESCO youth leaders on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) for her capacity-building work with ASF-UK .
We thank Isis for all that she has brought to the organisation over these years, and wish her all the best in her continued work. She will be greatly missed!0
