The last two evening sessions… January 15, 2014

The Perseverance Tuesday 7th Janurary 7:00pm After a sudden change of location, The Perseverance pub on Lamb’s Conduit Street was a great alternative for the first evening session of 2014. A positive turn up as well meant we filled up the small pub creating a good atmosphere. The topic of co-operatives arose as around the corner from the pub is the People’s Supermarket, a local food focused co-operative aimed at working with the local community and farmers. This brought up…

So, what is the “Right to the City”? Defined by War on Want: What right? People’s right to reclaim, use, shape and remake our urban surroundings Whose right? This month’s evening session… September 15, 2013

Our last evening session (Tuesday 3rd September@ the Royal Festival Hall) was combined with Architecture for Humanity which was rather successful. We discussed similarities and differences of the organisations to understand where we both could potentially collaborate on future projects, whereby both organisations can fulfil their similarities and thrive in their differences. Through the conversation it emerged, a similar way of operating occurred; likeminded groups of volunteers came together with an idea, source funding and conceptualise the idea to gain…

This month’s evening session… August 16, 2013

This ASF evening session @ Foxcroft & Ginger (06.08.13) was in collaboration with Architecture for Humanity (AFH), a volunteer non-profit organisation set up to promote architecture and design to seek solutions to global social and humanitarian crisis. What has brought together our two organisations has been the involvement of teams from both charities at The World of Music, Arts and Dance Festival (WOMAD) 20th – 28th July, a week of collaboration, designing, building and enjoying world music. The evening started with a chat about the WOMAD workshop and…
