Resilience by Design: Cartagena I Colombia I 2014
Architecture Sans Frontières-UK (ASF-UK), and Fundación por la Educación Multidimensional (FEM) are working together over the next 2 years to assist 22 local communities living in the beach/mangrove ecosystem of Cartagena, Colombia to each produce a Plan Administrativo del Territorio (PAT, Territorial Management Plan) for their individual settlement. The PAT is a fundamental aspect of the documentation required in order to obtain collective land ownership titles from the State of Colombia.
In order to achieve this the first step of the process was a workshop in September 2014, run by ASF-UK, where the team will piloted a methodology using participatory design and planning as a means to formulate community-based guidelines for the development of an initial PAT for Tierrebaja, one of the 22 settlements.
