Join us in Sheffield on the 14th–15th June 2024 for a new edition of the Challenging Practice Stage A seminar, focusing on the theme of inclusion and exclusion in space. This seminar is a key component of our flagship independent-learning programme, Challenging Practice: Essentials for the Social Production of Habitat. The programme aims to empower built environment practitioners to critically and creatively address the challenge of creating more equitable cities.

In this edition, we are collaborating with our Inclusion by Design programme, drawing insights from two pan-European projects delving into design and learning within the context of migration. We also draw inspiration from our Finding Common Ground event series at the London Festival of Architecture 2023

Through an intersectional approach to inclusion, this seminar will incorporate personas, role plays, and scenarios from our practice to explore effective methods and tools for centring lived experiences in built environment practice

The seminar is tailored for individuals with a personal or professional interest in urban planning, urban design, architecture, visual arts, public performance, or other creative disciplines involved in urban space.
